Accordo Group's Cloud Optimizer Means More Revenue For Partners: Exclusive
‘Visibility across cloud technologies has been limited. We are providing real-time visibility, notifications, and critical insights for partners so they can best serve their customers and help customers realize the full promise of why they purchased that cloud solution,’ says Accordo Group CEO Eric Martorano.
Software asset management company Accordo Group has hit a new milestone: It is handing partners a cloud management tool to help customers rein in uncontrolled cloud spend, understand cloud consumption, and get the most out of their cloud products.
Accordo Cloud Optimizer uses a recipe of predictive analytics and Accordo Group's proprietary technology to help partners and customers understand how cloud technologies are being used. The platform can also help partners make suggestions around new cloud services and, in turn, gain more services-based revenue, Accordo Group CEO Eric Martorano told CRN.
The profitability attached to reselling cloud services by itself is very slim, Martorano said. "We wanted to enable these partners with opportunities for additional revenue. The tool's actionable insights help boost understanding around usage so customers can see if they are using their products in the right way."

Martorano, a former Microsoft executive, is unveiling Accordo Cloud Optimizer on the eve of Microsoft Inspire, the company's annual conference for developers. The product is initially available for Microsoft Office 365 environments. The company plans on releasing Accordo Cloud Optimizer for Azure in September, a version for Amazon Web Services by the end of the year, and a G-Suite offering that will be available in early 2020.
Accordo Group is giving channel partners access to a free trial of Accordo Cloud Optimizer for the month of July and a 50 percent discount on the latest offering.
The cloud management process has been very manual for channel partners, according to Martorano. Cloud Optimizer can aggregate usage data and generate recommendations on how users can make the most of their cloud investments, he said.
"Visibility across cloud technologies has been limited. We are providing real-time visibility, notifications, and critical insights for partners so they can best serve their customers and help customers realize the full promise of why they purchased that cloud solution," he said.
By helping customers maximize their cloud usage, partners will become even more valuable to these companies, which means more profit for the channel, Martorano said. "We believe we are going to get significant uptake in this solution."
