Microsoft Taps Tyler Bryson As US Partner Group VP
‘Throughout the past year, I’ve been continually inspired by the extraordinary resilience and strength Microsoft partners have shown, going the extra mile to support and innovate on behalf of our mutual customers,’ Bryson says.
A Microsoft veteran of more than 18 years has been picked to lead the Redmond, Wash.-based technology giant’s U.S. partner efforts.
Tyler Bryson has been named corporate vice president of Microsoft’s U.S. partner group, overseeing a team that’s responsible for U.S. partner strategy, management and the overall health of the partner ecosystem.
Bryson previously served as vice president of Microsoft’s small, medium and corporate business segments in the United States, a position in which he said he worked closely with his predecessor, David Willis, who had led Microsoft’s U.S. commercial partner business since mid-2017. A CRN Channel Chiefs honoree for the past two years, Willis left Microsoft this month after nearly 30 years in channel-related roles, saying he wanted to spend more time with his family and pursue personal interests.
Bryson said he’s been continually inspired by the “extraordinary resilience and strength Microsoft partners have shown, going the extra mile to support and innovate on behalf of our mutual customers” in the past year.
“It seems only fitting to begin by first saying, ‘thank you, partners’ for stepping up and being a positive force in a challenging season,” he said in a blog post announcing his role. “After witnessing this fortitude, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to work more closely with you.”
Bryson’s mission in his new role is to help U.S. Microsoft partners achieve more, according to his LinkedIn page. His team works with U.S. partners to develop strong practices aligned to Microsoft’s workload and industry priorities, and deliver solutions to help customers maximize business benefits from their Microsoft technology investments. His team includes partner management, channel sales and go-to-market specialists as well as partner-facing technical specialists and architects.
“I‘m so honored and excited to work with you and get to know you and your businesses,” Bryson said. “We are depending upon you, your innovation, to help us grow in the marketplace. I can’t wait to get your feedback on areas where we can improve and get out and work with you, with your customers, to help us grow.”
Bryson previously led Microsoft sales, marketing and services teams in the United States, India, and Latin America.
“During that time, I honed the craft of building teams and partnerships to drive customer growth and outcomes,” he said.
His past Microsoft positions have included vice president of its Latin America sales, marketing and service group, general manager of marketing and operations for Microsoft India and general manager of the southwest district enterprise and partners group. Bryson also served as Microsoft’s manufacturing sector general manager, director of its U.S. high-tech industry sales and manager of enterprise solutions, according to his LinkedIn page.
