Demo: HP Haven Big Data Platform

Hewlett-Packard has integrated its Helion cloud into its big data strategy, leveraging that technology to create the HP Haven OnDemand platform.
Haven has the capabilities to not only analyze structured data, like the classic number-crunching that comes out of spreadsheets, but also unstructured data, including video and handwritten information.
HP Vertica's Joe Muccio demonstrated to CRNtv how the Haven platform can connect to sensors and instantly analyze the data feeding in from those sensors.
"We're taking that information from the back end, and we're kind of doing under-the-hood analytics and giving insight to that information," Muccio said.
An entire ecosystem has bloomed around HP Haven, with data virtualization, analytics and Hadoop offerings from Cloudera, Hortonworks, Informatica, MapR, Tableau and Talend, to name a few. The platform promises connectivity to more than 700 source systems, as well as the ability to "get up and running in less than 30 minutes."
