Xerox Launches Mobile Express Print Driver
The Mobile Express Driver is a free download offered by the Norwalk, Conn.-based company that allows users to print to any printer or multifunction device on a network regardless of whether it's a Xerox product. Users plugged into a network will see a pop-up print screen that identifies networked printers and allows users to connect.
"The Mobile Express Driver removes a real road block for the office nomad who travels across the hall, down the road, or throughout the country for meetings," said Russell Peacock, president, Xerox Office Group, in a statement. "No matter where they are, workers can now print their documents in just a few clicks."
The driver works with both Microsoft Windows XP and Vista, and saves a user's printer history and shows users what features are available on any given printer, like double-sided printing capabilities or scanning. It also automatically loads a user's preferences for printing in different applications.
Xerox also launched a Global Print Driver for Windows XP and Vista that allows network administrators to add new printers and MFPs to a network through a five-step process.
