Sirius Computer Solutions Acquires Denver Solutions Group
The move gives Sirius the complete IBM eServer portfolio. Terms of the deal weren't disclosed, but Bill Arntz, vice president of business development at Sirius, said the acquisition will give the San Antonio-based company projected annual 2004 revenue in excess of $550 million. "We are now the largest IBM eServer Business partner in the country and probably the world," he said.
Denver-based DSG has annual revenue of about $190 million and was IBM's second-largest zSeries Business partner in 2003. DSG is also a leading IBM storage and printing solutions provider, Arntz said. Sirius is the world's largest iSeries solution provider, as well as a top pSeries, xSeries and storage solution provider. The company said its 2003 annual revenue topped $300 million.
Arntz said the acquisition was a strategic move by Sirius to add zSeries mainframe expertise to its products and services lineup. "This fills in the [missing] pieces for us," he said.
DSG will operate as the Sirius Enterprise Systems Group and be a wholly owned subsidiary of Sirius Computer Solutions. Tom Engleby, president and CEO of DSG, will become president of the new enterprise subsidiary.
