Intel Restructures Executive Team, Names New COO

On the heels of reporting a record annual revenue of $54 billion, Intel announced Friday a number of executive shake-ups and promotions, including the appointment of Brian Krzanich, former senior vice president of worldwide manufacturing, as chief operating officer.

Krzanich will report directly to Intel president and CEO Paul Otellini and will continue to oversee worldwide manufacturing operations, in addition to internal IT and human resources. Dadi Perlmutter, one of the primary developers behind the Intel Architecture product portfolio, has been promoted to chief product officer and will continue reporting directly to Otellini.

"Promotions for Brian (Krzanich) and these other rotations reinforce Paul and the board's commitment to senior management's development and to support the board for when it will eventually make a decision on Paul's successor," Intel spokeswoman Laura Anderson told Reuters.

Kirk Skaugen, Intel vice president and head of its data center business, will now head the PC Client Group (PCCG), in place of Mooly Eden, former vice president, who has requested to move back to Israel after living in the U.S. for nine years. Eden will assume the position of president and general manager of Intel Isreal, and both he and Skaugen will report to Perlmutter.

The company also announced that Diane Bryant, vice president and CIO, will now lead its the data center business in place of new PC Client Group head Kirk Skaugen, and Kim Stevenson, former vice president of IT Global Operation and Services, will move into Bryant’s previous role as chief information officer.

Andy Bryant, former vice chairman of the board, will become a full-time executive chairmain at the company’s Annual Stockholder’s Meeting in May, while Stacy Smith, senior vice president and chief financial officer, will now report directly to Otellini, as he had previously reported to Bryant.

The transitions will take place over the next 30 days, Intel said.
