HP Chief Operating Officer Jon Flaxman, A 36-Year Company Veteran, Has Died

Jon Flaxman, HP Inc.'s chief operating officer, a 36-year HP veteran who was instrumental in bulking up partner sales tools, has died at the age of 61, the company announced Wednesday.

Since joining HP in 1981, Flaxman "touched many lives and created a lasting impact on our business, our partners, and our organization," the company said. "His impact made him one of the rare and defining leaders in HP’s prestigious history."

Flaxman is survived by his wife and three children.

HP said it had joined Flaxman's family to create a scholarship fund at his alma mater, Washington University's Olin School of Business.

Flaxman was passionate about helping students achieve their academic and professional goals.

HP CEO Dion Weisler, in a prepared statement, said, "we will miss Jon deeply and are indebted to him for his leadership, integrity and vision for HP’s future."
