HP Upgrades Integrity Servers
Six new Integrity servers are now available with the latest 1.6GHz Intel Itanium 2 processors, according to HP, Palo Alto, Calif.
Along with the newest Intel chips, HP has incorporated integrated virtualization tools within the new servers, giving users an improved ability to virtualize workflow across multiple operating systems.
As part of the new virtualization package on Integrity servers, HP is offering customers a pay-per-use option for the Microsoft Windows operating system running on the servers. With this new option, Integrity server users can pay only for the use of Windows when the operating system is engaged in the server environment, according to HP.
The latest production releases of the OpenVMS and Linux operating systems are available on the refreshed Integrity server line. Also available on the servers, HP's HP-UX 11i operating system, and Microsoft Windows Server 2003.
Pricing for the HP Integrity rx1620-2 server starts at $4,119. The HP Integrity rx2620-2 server starts at $5,614. The HP Integrity rx4640-8 server starts at $16,600. The HP Integrity rx7620-16 server starts at $18,995. The HP Integrity rx8620-32 server starts at $57,990. And the HP Integrity Superdome server starts at $185,252, according to HP.
