Oracle, SAP, Siebel Join EDS Agility Alliance Program

The new partners join Cisco, Dell, EMC, Microsoft, Sun Microsystems, and Xerox in the 1,000-employee Plano, Texas, facility. The facility and the alliance offer the opportunity for vendors who compete in some areas, to partner in other areas with EDS supplying the platform.

"The addition of Oracle, SAP and Siebel into the EDS Agility Alliance reinforces the value of our multilateral approach to industry innovation and cost leadership," said EDS chairman and CEO Michael Jordan in a statement.

As an example of the collaborative approach of the Agility Alliance platform, EDS cited recent work by EDS, SAP and Sun to support Infineon Technologies' global human resource functions. They worked together on managing Infineon's payroll in Germany and Austria, focusing on managing the demands of the cyclical semiconductor business.

At the new 145,000-square foot Plano facility, technologists from the EDS alliance jointly engineer and develop IT solutions and services.
