ASI To Distribute AMD Processors
ASI is now carrying AMD's entire line of processors, including the Sempron, Athlon 64 and Opteron families, as well as Turion 64 mobile technology, according to Brian Paterson, vice president of product management at ASI.
"As a leading distributor of computer components, ASI is committed to delivering solutions that meet customer demands for innovative, 64-bit-ready processor technology. We believe the AMD64 architecture does just that," Paterson said in a statement.
AMD processors are also distributed in North America by Avnet Computing Components, Avus, Bell Microproducts, D&H Distributing, Ingram Micro, Supercom and Tech Data, according to AMD, Sunnyvale, Calif.
"AMD continues to be extremely successful in the channel, delivering on our commitment to provide secure, high-performance AMD64 technology to customers and end users," said Gustavo Arenas, AMD's vice president and general manager of sales and marketing, Americas, in a statement. "As AMD leads the industry to pervasive 64-bit computing, ASI will contribute to customer demands for faster time-to-market cycles, increased supplies and competitive processor choices," he said.
