NEC-Mitsubishi Display Venture To Be Rolled Into NEC

NEC-Mitsubishi Electric Visual Systems, also known as NM Visual, was formed in 2000 and is slated to become part of Tokyo-based NEC by March 31, according to NEC and Mitsubishi. Plans call for the organization to be renamed and established as a wholly owned subsidiary of NEC.

By being rolled into NEC, the display venture will get more leverage in the market, according to T.J. Trojan, president and COO of NEC-Mitsubishi Electronics Display, Itasca, Ill.

"We firmly believe that the new ownership structure will provide many new opportunities for future growth through the access of new products and services and the simplification of our go-to-market strategies," Trojan said in a statement.
