HPE Poised To Add More AI Muscle By Teaming With Nvidia

Hewlett Packard Enterprise CEO Antonio Neri Tuesday said HPE is poised to add more AI muscle through an expanded partnership with Nvidia aimed at the enterprise.

“Later this week at HPE Discover Barcelona, we will further expand our Nvidia partnership with new solutions created for enterprise customers,” Neri told financial analysts during Spring, Texeas-based HPE’s fourth quarter earnings call.

“It is our IP and their IP that makes us unique and differentiated in the AI space,” said Neri.

Essentially, HPE is opening the door for customers to train, tune and deploy large language models at scale in their on-premises environments, said Neri.

“Think of this as an enterprise solution in a box that you can deploy on-prem to fine tune some of these [AI] models that you are not going to build but you are going to leverage with your data,” he said.

CRN reached out to Santa Clara, Calif.-based Nvidia for comment but had not heard back as of press time.

The expanded HPE-Nvidia partnership comes on top of a new AI training turnkey solution powered by Nvidia that was announced earlier this month. Under that deal, HPE unveiled a new AI training solution with preconfigured and pretested AI/ML software in what is the first system to feature the quad NVIDIA Grace Hopper GH200 Superchip configuration.

In an interview with CRN Tuesday, Neri said it is critical for partners to bring more AI services to market to help customers deploy AI solutions.

“Their expertise needs to be around the [AI] models and the software and the services,” he said. “We can bring to bear all the rest of the solutions that they need so they can deploy these quickly for customers.”
