Infosys To Train 50,000 Staff On Nvidia AI Technology In New Tie-Up

The strategic collaboration was announced as Nvidia seeks to hold onto its dominance of the AI computing space and expand its footprint in the face of growing competition from rivals Intel and AMD as well as startups and cloud service providers developing their own AI chips.

Infosys plans to train and certify 50,000 employees on Nvidia’s AI hardware and software solutions as part of a new strategic collaboration with the GPU giant.

The Indian global IT services and consulting firm announced the move with Nvidia Wednesday in a bid to “help enterprises worldwide drive productivity gains with generative AI applications and solutions.”

As part of the expanded partnership, Infosys will integrate Nvidia’s ecosystem of models, tools, runtimes and GPU systems into its Topaz platform, which consists of services, solutions and platforms that use generative AI technologies. This is expected to help Infosys’ customers “easily integrate generative AI into their businesses,” according to the two companies.

The partnership will also involve Infosys creating an Nvidia Center of Excellence through which it will train and certify 50,000 employees on the chip designer’s AI hardware and software.

The tie-up was announced by the two companies as Nvidia seeks to hold onto its dominance of the AI computing space and expand its footprint in the face of growing competition from rivals Intel and AMD as well as startups and cloud service providers developing their own AI chips.

“The Nvidia AI Enterprise ecosystem is ramping quickly to provide the platform for generative AI,” said Nvidia CEO and co-founder Jensen Huang in a statement. “Together, Nvidia and Infosys will create an expert workforce to help businesses use this platform to build custom applications and solutions.”

For its part, Infosys is moving to transform itself into an “AI-first company to better provide AI-based services” to its global base of customers, according to Infosys Chairman and co-founder Nandan Nilekani.

“By combining our strengths and training 50,000 of our workforce on Nvidia AI technology, we are creating end-to-end industry leading AI solutions that will help enterprises on their journey to become AI-first,” he said in a statement.
