Researchers Want This Mirror To Notify You Of Underlying Health Issues
See a whole new you with the Artemis Smart Mirror.
The mirror turned heads at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show. After all, it’s not every day that you get to brush your teeth with the help of facial recognition, augmented reality and 50 IoT devices.
The device will immediately recognize a user through facial recognition and connect that person with purchased items, offering AR tutorials on how to use them. Users can also call in a doctor, take a vision test, try a new hair color and get updates on the air quality outside to better understand its impact on his/her health or fitness.
And that’s just the beginning.
Researchers are now reportedly working on ways to use the collected data to notify a user of an underlying skin or posture issue.
The mirror is the brainchild of European company CareOS. It’s the first to integrate the CareOS platform, an open platform that enables partners to boost their technology for value-added services in the bathroom.
The Artemis Smart Mirror will be available in the second half of 2019 for $20,000.
