Autotask Bolsters Managed Services Reporting
On Friday, Autotask plans to flip the switch on its LiveReports tool, which will enable solution providers to model practically any event that occurs in their managed services business, said Bob Godgart, CEO of the Rensselaer, N.Y.-based company. Godgart announced the tool at the MSPAlliance 2006 Managed Services International Conference in Orlando, Fla.
"This lets MSPs create any report they want to see, slice and dice it, and then repeat it as a regular routine," he said.
LiveReports allows MSPs using Autotask’s platform to design custom reports from current templates for billing, trouble ticketing and CRM chores, according to Godgart. Using the tool, columns of data that aren’t needed on a certain report can be deleted, a task that previously required data to be exported into Excel, modified and then imported back into Autotask, he said.
The ability to use LiveReports to experiment with certain types of reporting, and to compare results to past time periods, gives MSPs a tool to discover anomalies in their MSP business practice that might not have been found using a standard report, Godgart noted.
Autotask has tripled its development staff and plans to continue to grow its platform throughout the year, he added.
