‘Romp’s capabilities strongly aligned with and complemented the services offered through Accenture Song that helps client growth through relevance. We also found a strong cultural fit,’ says Thomas Mouritzen, Accenture Song’s Southeast Asia lead.
Accenture will acquire Indonesia-based Romp, a brand and experience agency, to strengthen Accenture Song’s ability to deliver creative and tech-driven brand experiences for clients across its Southeast Asia market. Accenture Song was formerly known as Accenture Interactive.
Romp is known for its creative talent and services across branding and marketing projects and boasts strong local knowledge and expertise in brand communications, design and digital operations. Some of its clients include Indofood, Danone, Kimberly-Clarke Softex and Google.
Romp will bring over about 150 employees in the acquisition. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“Led by influential leadership, Romp stood out as an independent agency with an impressive track record of helping clients accelerate business growth and sustain relevancy for years to come despite being a young company,” Thomas Mouritzen, Accenture Song’s Southeast Asia lead, told CRN in emailed statement. “Romp’s capabilities strongly aligned with and complemented the services offered through Accenture Song that helps client growth through relevance. Romp will enhance Accenture Song’s brand and marketing expertise by helping clients embrace new business opportunities, such as the metaverse. Romp also aligns with Accenture’s strategy to help businesses in Indonesia harness opportunities in a post-pandemic economy, such as digital advertising and the e-commerce market.
“As consumer expectations change drastically, businesses are having to reinvent their business and rethink their brand experience and customer engagement strategies,” Mouritzen said. “ The changes they need to make to remain relevant will require Accenture Song’s expertise and ability to come up with creative solutions.”
Romp was founded in 2019 and will join Accenture Song in Jakarta to serve clients across consumer goods and services, telecommunications and financial services industries and family-owned conglomerates.
“With Accenture Song, Romp will become part of the world’s largest digital agency and one of the most innovative companies globally,” Joseph Tan, CEO of Romp, told CRN in an emailed statement. “ The ability for Romp to tap into the deep resources, reach and capabilities across product innovation, sales and commerce transformation, marketing transformation and service found within Accenture Song will make the agency a more valued partner to its clients and better equipped for the kind of work that we see as the future of this industry. By plugging into Accenture Song, Romp will be able to help brands deliver against opportunities at scale and with global impact.”
The Romp purchase is a part of Accenture’s latest stream of acquisitions this summer, recently acquiring companies such as Solvera Solutions, YSC Consulting, Sentia and Tenbu.
