Fresche Solutions Bolsters Security With Trinity Guard Buy
‘[It’s] important to provide a very strong level of security for IBM platforms. Most people think the IBM i platforms is a secured platform by itself. And even the IBM i’s are being hacked,’ says Fresche Solutions CEO Stephen Woodard.
Fresche Solutions, a Montreal-based IT consulting and development company, this week said it has acquired Trinity Guard, a Houston-based company specializing in security, auditing and detection software and services.
The acquisition of Trinity Guard will help Fresche Solutions, an end-to-end provider of IBM i solutions, offer security services to its customers, said Stephen Woodard, CEO of Fresche Solutions.
“Trinity Guard allows our customers to tighten up and lock down the IBM i platform itself,” Woodard told CRN. “It’s a service that we provide as a subscription, we provided it as a perpetual license, and we are in the process of providing it as a service.”
Fresche Solutions offers IT solutions to businesses internationally in areas such as custom application development, modernization of legacy software assets, managed services, cloud, infrastructure and expert staffing solutions, according to the company’s website.
Woodard said the Trinity Guard software monitors intrusion detection, and can be very effective against ransomware, spyware, and other security issues. The company provides capabilities to detect and protect against growing cybercrimes, he said.
Woodard said the acquisition was Fresche Solutions’ next logical step after another deal in September 2021, in which the company acquired Abacus Solutions, a provider of IBM i cloud, managed services and infrastructure solutions.
“For our customers, this was important to provide a very strong level of security for IBM platforms,” he said. “Most people think the IBM i platforms is a secured platform by itself. And even the IBM i’s are being hacked. So we‘ve been talking to Trinity Guard for about six months, and it was a natural fit.”
Fresche Solutions has offices in the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia and India. The company will keep Trinity Guard’s location in Houston, adding their 20 employees to Fresche Solutions’ 370-person staff, Woodard said. Trinity Guard will become a division of Fresche Solutions and operate under its current name.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Woodard said the company is planning on making a few more acquisitions this year.
