Here's How Intel's New Kaby Lake Processors Raise The Bar In PC Market
Intel Tuesday lifted the curtain on its new seventh-generation processors, which are code-named Kaby Lake.
Intel executives said they hope these processors will drive innovative consumer experiences on PCs, with a boost in performance and improved graphics capabilities. The new processors also allow users to run multiple streams of 4K content and virtual and augmented reality applications.
Intel said its 14-nm processors pack 10 times the performance and power efficiency over its first-generation Core model. However, beyond performance the chip company is also pushing for better experiences in gaming and virtual reality with its new processors.
According to Intel, the graphics performance on systems powered by Kaby Lake processors will be almost 3.5 times better than that of a five-year-old PC.
The new seventh-generation processors include an Intel’s Core m3 model and Intel’s Core i3, i5 and i7 models. Intel said it expects OEMs to start shipping seventh-gen systems by the beginning of September.
