Internap Expands Coverage Via Speakeasy

The deal extends Internap's footprint into more than 20 cities in which Seattle, Wash.-based Speakeasy has a presence. Internap, which utilizes domestic IP backbones to deliver its services, did not have existing relationships to offer services in these cities, the company said.

Internap will now be able to offer customers Speakeasy's T1 and fractional T1 connectivity to its P-NAPs, according to Internap, Atlanta.

Since May, Internap has been steadily recruiting Cisco Systems' channel partners to sell its proprietary performance-based routing services. The company is working with San Jose, Calif.-based Cisco to train the networking vendor's partners to sell and install a managed firewall service it developed with Cisco.

Internap is also recruiting a wide variety of VARs and systems integrators, said executives in past interviews with CRN.
