Cisco To Acquire Two Communications App Dev Firms
Cisco plans to purchase Metreos, Austin, Tex., for $28 million and $19.8 million for Audium, New York, NY.
The two acquisitions will help customers and partners quickly build and deploy integrated applications for Unified Communications System, Cisco’s VoIP platform, according to a company statement.
Metreos provides IP communication application development and management tools,. It was founded in 2001 and has 19 employees .
Audium, founded in 1999, provides VoiceXML speech self-service application development and management tools. It has 26 employees.

The acquisitions are expected to close in Cisco’s fourth fiscal quarter, ending July 29.
