Bell Micro Additions Target Next-Gen Networks, Data Centers
The San Jose, Calif.- based distributor will add Zeus Technology's flagship Zeus Extensible Traffic Manager (ZXTM). Bell Micro officials say ZXTM is aimed at SMB and enterprise end users looking to boost the performance of network applications and tighten network security. ZXTM can be deployed as software or as an appliance, and is compatible with virtualized data center environments.
Gary Gammon, Bell Micro's vice president of marketing, said the Zeus products, which are available now, mesh well with the disty's "storage-centric and server-agnostic approach to networking."
Bell Micro's deal with Zeus comes just one week after the distributor added 10-Gigabit Ethernet and multi-port Gigabit Ethernet networking gear from Chelsio Communications. Like the Zeus gear, the Chelsio products are designed to boost performance, especially in next-generation data centers. Chelsio's adapters also target the growing need for converged networking, clustering and storage interconnects in high performance servers and storage systems, officials say.
"Our partnership with Bell Microproducts will benefit customers by giving them access to the broadest range of high performance 10-Gigabit Ethernet and multiport Gigabit Ethernet Storage Accelerators in the industry," said Kianoosh Naghshineh, Chelsio's president and CEO, in a statement.
