Synnex To Acquire Link2Support
Financial terms of the deal weren't disclosed. Six-year old Link2Support, based in Manila, the Philippines, offers technical support via voice, e-mail and chat communications systems for technology vendors in North America, Europe and Asia.
"Our resellers now have access to our Concentrix services, and this will be a broadening of those for our community," said Chris Caldwell, vice president of corporate development at Synnex.
The Fremont, Calif.-based distributor last year acquired Rochester, N.Y.-based Concentrix, which provides call center, database analysis and print on demand services.
Link2Support's services will be integrated into Concentrix, and the group will provide technical support, remote management and integrated marketing services to Synnex's reseller customers.
Link2Support employs about 2,300 people, who will be kept on, and the combined group will have about 2,700 employees providing services, according to Caldwell.
Caldwell said that the services provided by the Link2Support will be a good fit for Synnex's North American customer base.
"The Philippines is booming right now with call centers, contact centers and technical support operations. They have an affinity for the West. They're very used to the colloquialisms that are used in North America and the education you can get there is very high to provide high-level technical support," he said.
Synnex plans to offer its customers more services like those from Concentrix. "They're all going to be tied around how to get the VAR and vendor partner more aligned with their goals and to drive profitability for everybody," Caldwell said.
