Linksys Ships New Wireless Bridge

Bridge switch

The Irvine, Calif.-based wireless networking vendor said the new product was developed in response to demand from solution providers for a wireless bridge to solve connectivity issues related to multiple workgroup networks and offices not capable of being wired with Ethernet cables

For instance, the new bridge allows small businesses to place computers in areas such as warehouses and trailer offices, said Steve Troyer, director of product marketing for Linksys.

Priced at $199, the Wireless-G Ethernet Bridge with five-port Switch connects any Ethernet-equipped device to a Linksys Wireless-G or Wireless-B network and supports WEP and WPA security standards. QoS is supported in each of the five 10/100 switched ports.
