Motorola Offers Managed Services For Mobile Device Monitoring
The Managed Infrastructure Service offering includes Motorola AirDefense Infrastructure Management and Network Assurance packages to offer remote monitoring, management and troubleshooting of wireless LANs. The Managed Device Service is designed for customers' mobile tools, and through Motorola's existing Mobility Services Platform, includes asset tracking for devices such as mobile computers and barcode scanners, and remote data wipe for lost or stolen devices.
Partners can either resell the services to customers or opt to purchase and private-label the services from Motorola.
"It's all about keeping devices up and running and keeping workers productive -- you need that wireless infrastructure on 24/7," said Lou Rubinstein, director of worldwide services offerings and management offerings for Motorola Enterprise Mobility Solutions.
Services opportunities will be a key part of Motorola's renewed channel push, which for its Enterprise Mobility Solutions (EMS) business includes the recently debuted PartnerEmpower program.
Launched at Motorola's partner conference in March, PartnerEmpower addresses all of Motorola's EMS partners under a single framework and awards them points, based on everything from Motorola technology certifications to vertical market specializations, that then translate into tiered partner levels: Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum.
Motorola is still evaluating how to award points for managed services competencies, Rubinstein said, on top of the MSP track it will be including in its PartnerEmpower training.
"We see services as a way to augment and compliment partner capabilities," added Greg Root, director of EMS marketing at Motorola. "These kinds of what I would define as high-value-add managed services are unquestionably part of that."
