Ingram Micro Sells Own V7 Line Of SMB Switches
The V7 8-port and 5-port unmanaged 10/100/1000 Ethernet and Gigabit switches are targeted toward SMBs and home users who connect multiple computers as well as cameras, print and media servers, storage devices and VoIP phones.
The distributor also sells V7-branded displays, peripherals, cables, batteries, toner mounts and more that are manufactured by third-party vendors and sold under the V7 line.
"Our new line of reliable and affordable switches takes expanding networks to the next level in connectivity speed and efficiency," said Rainer Kozlik, vice president and general manager of Ingram Micro’s global V7 private label group, in a statement. "For a low price, our switches can serve as the network backbone for sharing e-mail, printers, files, multiplayer games, hard drives and more, creating significant value for VARs and customers alike."
Like its other V7 products, Ingram pitches the switches as low-cost alternatives to tier-one vendors. The unmanaged five-port and eight-port Ethernet switches are offered at suggested retail prices of $24.99 and $49.99, respectively. The Gigabit five-port and eight-port unmanaged switches come with suggested retail prices of $59.99 and $79.99 respectively. The switches come with a one-year warranty.
"With V7’s new unmanaged networking switches, small-office/home office, small businesses and the geared-up home user can enjoy increased network functionality without having to spend a lot of money or have advanced training," said Robert Forster, director of product marketing for Ingram Micro’s Private Label division. "Once you connect the hardware, your switch is in business and so is your network."
