CRN Exclusive: Star2Star Offers Free Training To Make Solution Providers 'Dangerous' In UCaaS Market

Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS) specialist Star2Star is offering its four-day onsite training course free of charge this April and May to solution providers seeking to build or enhance their unified communications practice.

"We'll fly them to our headquarters in Sarasota, pay for their training, their hotel and we're giving them an onboarding marketing package equal to about $2,000 – all for free," said John Roth, senior vice president of sales operations for Star2Star, in an interview with CRN. "We're focused on knocking down all the barriers."

Starting in April, Sarasota, Fla.-based Star2Star, which boasts a 100 percent channel sales strategy, is offering channel partners to get retrained on new products or interested solution providers to become trained engineers for free.

The four-day training course includes two and a half days of technical training alongside Star2Star sales engineers that includes installing the vendor's solutions across various types of networks. The remainder of the course includes training around sales, pricing, marketing and how to best position the solution to specific customers.

"It's a huge channel investment for us," said Roth. "They're going to our headquarters and meeting the people who will walk them through the entire process until they get good at it and can handle it on their own."
