Vulnerability Software Vendor Launches Channel Program

The program, formally titled Foundsecure, launched with two partners,Network Computing Architects, Bellevue, Wash.; and D&D Consulting, Albany, N.Y.

Details of the program were still being resolved, but executives at Mission Viejo, Calif.-based Foundstone said that the effort eventually would provide a three-tiered approach that would enable solution providers to sign up as agents, resellers or OEM partners.

"We recognize that sales in the [managed services] space are much more realistic with the help of partners," said Chris Kenworthy, executive vice president of worldwide sales and business development. "There's no way we can do this alone."

Kenworthy added that the program eventually will incorporate training, co-branded marketing collateral and marketing funds.

Foundstone's flagship product, the Foundstone ERS software suite, is designed to help organizations discover, inventory and prioritize assets on their global networks. Solution providers run the software as a managed security services offering.

Chris Labatt-Simon, CEO of D&D Consulting, said he expects his company's new relationship with Foundstone to yield profit for everyone involved.

"Vulnerability management is new to our customers, but a lot of them have been asking how to mitigate risk," said Simon, whose organization was one of the first solution partners to join the Juniper Networks channel. "Foundstone has a good model and they're determined to see it through."
