ISS Expands Managed Security Services
The offerings, announced late Monday at the Networld+Interop conference in Las Vegas, are the latest addition to the Atlanta-based vendor's suite of managed security dubbed Managed Protection Services. They were expected to be available to channel partners by the end of the month.
Rick Miller, vice president of managed security services, said the new offerings offer total security management for less than $350 per month.
"Our SMB customers do not have the time, resources or budget to keep tabs on every aspect of security in order to keep their business operations online," Miller said. "For less than 5 percent [of] the cost of employing an in-house security expert, organizations can have 24x7 guaranteed protection, allowing current IT staff to focus on core job responsibilities."
Specifically, the new offerings are designed to cater to organizations with between five and 2,500 employees. They include firewall, gateway antivirus, intrusion prevention, Web filtering and e-mail security protection.
ISS' new managed security services come with performance-based service level agreements to guarantee top performance, Miller said. Details of those SLAs were still being ironed out but were expected to vary by customer.
