TruSecure Launches Managed Firewall, IDS Service

The solution, formally called Network Defense System, is a turnkey appliance-based approach that includes hardware, software and constant monitoring and management services. It was available immediately.

According to Mike Guiterman, product manager at the Herndon, Va.-based vendor, the solution was designed to help SMBs implement, monitor and manage their security posture better and more cheaply than they could by purchasing hardware and managing it themselves.

"The NDS is another example of TruSecure's commitment to providing complete solutions aimed at helping customers manage enterprise security risk more efficiently and effectively," he said. "This opens a whole new market of opportunity for [us] and introduces what may be our most important product yet for channel partners."

Specifically, NDS features include outsourced firewall and IDS services, as well as managed e-mail and antivirus filtering for up to 500 e-mail accounts.

The solution also includes round-the-clock network monitoring by TruSecure's Security Operations Center and an easy-to-use incident viewer that provides a realtime look into abnormal and malicious events.

Pricing for the solution was not immediately available.
