Wiz Hires New President Dali Rajic From Zscaler

Rajic joins the cloud security unicorn after departing as Zscaler’s COO.

Wiz said Monday it has hired Dali Rajic, most recently the COO of cybersecurity firm Zscaler, as the cloud security unicorn works toward going public.

Rajic will serve as president and COO of the fast-growing company, Wiz said.

In a news release, Wiz said Rajic will be instrumental in driving the company’s next stage of growth, including its plans to pursue an initial public offering in the future. Rajic “will oversee Wiz’s growth strategy and operating models and help steer the company through the next phases of its rapid growth on the road to IPO,” the company said in the release.

Wiz said it recently surpassed $350 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR), up from $100 million in ARR as of August 2022.

Rajic had joined Zscaler in September 2019 as its president of go-to-market and CRO. In early 2022, he moved into the role of COO.

Zscaler had disclosed that Rajic was departing in a filing Friday with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. In a statement provided to CRN, Zscaler credited Rajic with helping to enable the company’s growth to more than $2 billion in ARR.

Rajic was “instrumental in not only the growth of Zscaler but also establishing the fundamental principles and operational rigor required to support the company’s rapid growth,” the company said.

Zscaler did not disclose details on a successor for the COO role.

Prior positions for Rajic included serving as chief customer and revenue officer at AppDynamics, which was acquired by Cisco Systems for $3.7 billion in 2017. Rajic spent more than seven years in total with the company, working his way up from a vice president of sales role. Earlier, he held positions at BMC Software and Verint.

Rajic “has successfully scaled some of the world's most innovative companies,” Wiz co-founder and CEO Assaf Rappaport said in the news release Monday.

Cloud Security Unicorn

Founded in 2020, Wiz got a rapid start with its agentless tool for improving visibility in cloud environments, known as CSPM (cloud security posture management). The company reached $100 million in annual recurring revenue within 18 months of entering the market, Wiz said in August 2022, making it the fastest software company ever to do so.

Wiz went on to become the top-valued unicorn in cybersecurity last year, with a valuation of $10 billion in connection with its $300 million funding round in February 2023.
