Xerox Confirms Data Breach Impacting XBS US
The printer and copier giant says that its Xerox Business Solutions U.S. subsidiary was affected in the cyberattack, but has not disclosed whether customer and partner data was impacted.
Xerox disclosed Dec. 30 that its Xerox Business Solutions subsidiary was “recently” affected by a “cybersecurity incident.”
The Norwalk, Conn.-based copier and printer giant declined to comment Tuesday on whether partner or customer data was impacted in the breach. The attack impacted IT environments belonging to the U.S. operations of XBS, according to Xerox.

XBS U.S. “experienced a security incident which was detected and contained by Xerox cybersecurity personnel,” Xerox said in the statement.
The Xerox statement indicated that “limited personal information in the XBS environment may have been affected,” but did not include further specifics.
In response to an inquiry from CRN about whether there have been any updates, and whether partner or customer data was impacted in the XBS U.S. incident, a spokesperson said Tuesday that Xerox is not providing further details at this point.
According to a BleepingComputer report, the INC Ransom cybercriminal gang claimed Xerox as a victim on its darkweb site on Dec. 29.
In its Dec. 30 statement, Xerox said the breach “had no impact on Xerox’s corporate systems, operations or data, and no effect on XBS operations.” The company said it planned to notify any affected individuals.
