The 20 Coolest Identity Access Management And Data Protection Companies Of 2025: The Security 100

From vendors offering identity and data security to providers of security service edge, here’s a look at 20 key companies in identity, access and data security.

If the growth of the identity and access management (IAM) market is any indication, the profound challenges involved with securing against identity-based attacks are far from solved for most organizations. IAM saw the second-fastest growth of any cybersecurity category in 2023 with a year-over-year revenue increase of 21.4 percent, according to the most recent figures available from research firm IDC.

Meanwhile, demand for data security has continued to surge for a variety of converging reasons — whether it’s the risk of data exposure via GenAI tools, the growth of SaaS and cloud, or the rise in data theft and extortion attacks. “Data security is the future of cybersecurity,” said Mike Tornincasa, chief business officer at Rubrik, which has transitioned from its roots as a backup and recovery vendor into a major data security player, in an interview with CRN. In particular, data security posture management (DSPM) has emerged as a focal point. DSPM provides enhanced visibility into the locations and security of data stored in an organization’s cloud environments, offering a more-modern way to lock down the data in the cloud.

Likewise, the momentum around secure access service edge (SASE) and security service edge (SSE) continues to be vigorous, with secure access for hybrid and remote employees remaining a necessity for many organizations. As just one indicator, Gartner analysts recently forecast that 65 percent of purchases for SD-WAN will come through a single-vendor SASE offering by 2027, up from 20 percent as of this yea

As part of CRN’s Security 100 2025, we’ve assembled the following list by collecting many of the top vendors in the related — but not identical — segments of identity and access security, data security and SSE. In some cases, vendors on our list offer more than one of these technologies (or offer all three, as is the case with Microsoft).

What follows are the 20 identity, access and data security companies that made our Security 100 for 2025.
