Aventail Introduces New SSL VPN
The tool, the Aventail EX-750, was expected to be available to channel partners later this month; pricing begins at $6,995. Harvey Storms, the company's director of channel marketing, said the device should give VARs new opportunities for profit.
"The Aventail EX-750 gives our VARs the opportunity to expand their reach with SSL VPN appliances to smaller enterprises that need the same level of security and access options as larger companies at a lower price," he said.
Storms added that because it's built on Aventail's "Anywhere Secure Access Policy," the new clientless SSL VPN incorporates advanced cache cleaning and other data protection and data integrity capabilities.
The tool also features a Web-based user interface for administrators to define and manage policies, as well as access to a broad range of applications, including Microsoft Outlook, Lotus Notes and those from SAP, PeopleSoft, Oracle, Citrix Systems and others.
The EX-750 even offers optional access through the Seattle-based company's Aventail OnDemand, a downloadable Java agent, and Aventail Connect, a Web-deployed Windows agent.
"It's the perfect time in the market for the Aventail EX-750 and the inherent benefits of an SSL VPN solution, such as clientless functionality, ease of use and increased security," said Joseph Dell, CTO of Vigilar, Atlanta. "We are excited to now be able to offer our smaller enterprise customers affordable access to Aventail's best-of-breed technology."
