Twitter was knocked down Thursday morning in a major outage, with users across the globe unable to access the social media platform.
Downdetector.com reported tens of thousands of issues with Twitter starting around 8:00 am ET. The outage appeared to impact Twitter’s web, mobile and Tweetdeck platforms. As of 9:00 am ET, the site was functioning normally.
Users from around the world, including the U.S., U.K., Brazil and Japan, reported issues on Downdetector Thursday morning.
Twitter’s official status page reported no issues during the outage.
In February, an outage knocked out Twitter for a little over an hour before it was resolved.
Twitter has been embroiled in a legal battle with Tesla founder Elon Musk over Musk’s $44 billion deal to buy the company. Musk publically backed out of the deal last week, and on Tuesday Twitter asked a Delaware court to intervene to hold Musk to task.
