Tech Data Expands EMC Agreement To Government VARs

Tech Data is the only broadline distributor to offer the products to EMC-certified federal resellers, according to Joel Davis, vice president of East and government sales at Tech Data.

"The government buying season is a tremendous opportunity for resellers to earn high-value integration and service contracts," Davis said in a statement. "The addition of EMC to Tech Data's government line card offers federal resellers greater flexibility when designing versatile storage solutions suitable for a wide range of applications."

Under the agreement, Tech Data will carry the EMC Clariion CX500 and EMC Clariion CX700 networked storage systems; the EMC Centera content addressed storage solution; and related EMC software applications to EMC-certified federal resellers. Tech Data already distributes EMC's NetWin 110, Clariion CX300 and Clariion AX100 networked storage systems for solution providers selling into the commercial space.

The products will be sold through Tech Data's Enterprise Specialized Business Unit (SBU), which also provides solution providers with access to field-based engineers, vendor product representatives and certified systems engineers.
