Carbonite Taps Bit9's Jessica Couto To Serve As Vice President, North American Channel Sales

Carbonite has moved Jessica Couto into the role of vice president of North American channel sales, where the channel veteran promises to continue the company's focus on opportunities for partners around small to medium-size businesses.

Before she joined Boston-based Carbonite, Couto served as the director of worldwide channel sales at Waltham, Mass.-based Bit9.

"My new mission statement for moving into this new role with Carbonite will be to expand and grow our partner community as well as the SMB customer space for us," Couto told CRNtv at this week's NexGen Cloud Conference in San Diego.

Couto said customers today want a hybrid solution for backup, both on-premise and cloud, and look to partners to help them meet compliance standards in a variety of verticals, from health care to education.

Carbonite recently released a new disaster recovery portfolio that Couto called "really relevent for the SMB space."

Couto said the new Carbonite Appliance solution "scales around affordability and a hybrid disaster recovery solution for [customers]." She also highlighted Carbonite’s new bare metal restore solution.
