Uber Is Trying To Poach VMware's CFO: Report
Uber is looking to poach VMware's CFO to lead financial operations for the ride-sharing company as it prepares to go public, Bloomberg News reported on Thursday.
Zane Rowe has emerged as the top candidate for Uber's CFO position, and is in advanced talks with the company, according to the report.
A VMware spokesperson would not comment on the report. Uber did not reply to an inquiry by press time.

Rowe held the CFO position at VMware parent company EMC before replacing Jonathan Chadwick as CFO at VMware in January of 2016 prior to Dell closing its acquisition of EMC. Before that, he led North America sales for Apple.
VMware has been at the center of a proposal to take Dell Technologies public through a reverse merger with the virtualization leader.
Rowe also represents VMware on the board of Pivotal Software, a spin-out from EMC and VMware that is slated to begin trading on Friday. Pivotal plans to raise $555 million by offering 37 million shares at a price range of $14 to $16 per share.
Dell is currently Pivotal's majority stockholder. Other major Pivotal shareholders include Microsoft, Ford and GE. Once Pivotal goes public, Dell Technologies will own, indirectly through its subsidiaries -- including VMware -- 351,028,548 shares of outstanding Class B common stock.
