Acer's New Notebooks True 'Gems'
Acer on Oct. 1 expanded its Aspire Gemstone family of notebook PCs with several new models, including the Aspire 8930-6448, which features an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T9400 and an 18.4-inch HD widescreen display. The consumer system also packs in 4 GBytes of memory, a 320-GByte SATA hard drive, an NVIDIA GeForce graphics card, Dolby Home Theater sound and support for the 802.11 draft wireless-N protocol. A Webcam is also included. The system ships with Windows Vista Ultimate and is priced at $1,699.99.
Acer also introduced the Aspire 6930-6809, which is built on Intel's Core 2 Duo Processor T5800 and includes a 16-inch TFT LCD. It features 3072 Mbytes of memory, a 320-GByte SATA hard drive, a Webcam and support for the 802.11 draft wireless-N protocol. The system ships with Windows Vista Home Premium and is priced at $699.99.
Acer's new Aspire 5735-4624 is a lower-cost system that includes a 15.6-inch TFT LCD. It is built on the Intel Pentium Dual-Core Mobile Processor T3200 and includes 2048 Mbytes of memory, a 160-GByte SATA hard drive and support for the 802.11 draft wireless-N protocol. It ships with Windows Vista Home Premium and is priced at $549.99.
Acer's Aspire 4730-4374 is built on Intel's Pentium Dual Core T3200 and features a 14.1-inch TFT LCD. It includes 2048 Mbytes of memory, a 120 GByte SATA hard drive, a Webcam and support for the 802.11 draft wireless-N protocol. It ships with Windows Vista Home Premium and is priced at $549.99.
