Antec: On The Case With Server Chassis

Antec&'s new Titan 550 case is designed to meet the needs of both servers and workstation. Like most modern enclosures, it has convenient front-panel ports, including two USB 2.0 ports, one FireWire connector, and audio-in and -out features.

The Titan 550 works with single- and dual-CPU servers and workstations. Finished in black, the case isn&'t taller than a typical desktop tower but is much deeper. The chassis measures 8.1 x 17.6 x 23 inches and weighs 30 pounds. The extra space easily can house all the components used in servers and workstations. It also allows for maximum airflow and optimum cooling, enabling it to handle the fast Xeon chips and dual-core Opterons.

The Titan 550 includes a 550-watt TruePower 2.0 power supply that offers ATX12V v2.01 compliance and EPS12V compatibility. The power supply features Antec&'s low-noise technology with dual 12-volt outputs and voltage feedback circuitry for maximum stability. An ultra-quiet cooling system consists of a single rear 120-millimeter fan with a three-speed switch. The case also features two 92-mm fan mounts.

The case has enough room to house Extended ATX motherboards, including CEB-spec boards that measure 30.5 x 33 cm. The case features seven expansion slots and 10 drive bays: Six are 3.5-inch internal, and four are 5.25-inch external, with one containing a 5.25-inch to 3.5-inch adapter.

The case features a side panel held on by two captive thumbscrews and a removable front bezel. The top of the bezel contains a lockable 270-degree double-hinged door that swings far out of the way when accessing the external 5.25-inch bays. Hard drives can be accessed from the front of the system if the drive bay vanity covers are left off.

The Titan 550 comes with a power cord, 120-mm fan, screws and motherboard standoffs, a complete set of drive rails and an installation manual.
