McAfee Taps Former EMC Exec As New CEO
Dave DeWalt, former head of EMC's software group, will take over as the new president and CEO at McAfee April 2, the Santa Clara, Calif.-based vendor said Monday.
Dewalt, also expected to become a member of McAfee's board, has previously held positions at Oracle, Quest Software, Eventus Software, and Segue Software.
DeWalt joined EMC in 2003 after the Hopkinton, Mass.-based vendor's $1.7 billion acquisition of Documentum, where he was president and CEO.
"Dave brings strong execution skills, a proven ability to lead top performing teams and an excellent track record in driving shareholder value to McAfee," said Chuck Robel, non-executive chairman of McAfee, in a statement.
Dale Fuller, who took over as McAfee's interim president and CEO after former CEO George Samenuk resigned in October, will step down April 1 and will remain on McAfee's board, the vendor said.
