HP Helps Bank Of India Save $182 Million
HP helped Bank of India, one of the five largest banks in India, realize increased revenue and profitability, significant cost savings and improved process efficiencies through a major business transformation. Bank of India implemented a core banking solution that is integrated with a new centralized data center and an information management warehouse.
According to an independent study by research and information services firm Thoughtware Worldwide, HP has helped the bank realize a 234 percent return on investment, a 209 percent internal rate of return and $182 million in savings over a five-year period, with the bank reaching its break-even point in less than two years.

SAP, Siemens Partner On Electric Vehicle Solution
SAP AG is partnering with Siemens IT Solutions and Services to develop the underlying technology to enable widespread electric vehicle use. The work includes developing and extending the infrastructure between charging stations and the back-end systems that will process various utility transactions.
During the project's first phase, the team will focus on the end-to-end process integration of measuring energy consumption and producing an invoice at the home charging station.
CACI Supports Department Of Veterans Affairs
CACI International has been awarded a prime contract to support the comprehensive Department of Veterans Affairs Virtual Lifetime Electronic Record initiative. The five-year value of the contract has a ceiling of $91 million. CACI will develop a solution to consolidate the medical records of Armed Forces members in an electronic database, available to all VA and Department of Defense facilities/providers, as well as to any private or civilian medical offices that service members might use. ’This new work is an important health-care game-changer for us, since it gives the company increased presence and stature in the electronic health care environment," said Bill Fairl, CACI's president of U.S. Operations.

Wipro Reports Growing Sales, But Falls Behind Other Indian Firms
Wipro IT Services reported its second-quarter results, with sales increasing 6.83 percent from second quarter of 2009. The company saw double-digit growth across all service lines, all verticals and all geographies. Product engineering grew 59.6 percent, health care grew 30.1 percent and emerging markets grew 59.6 percent. However, Wipro fell short of its competitors, in particular TCS, which pulled year-over-year revenue growth of 26 percent.
