Solution provider Accenture has expanded a relationship to provide more cloud solutions to customers. In addition, other VAR500 solution providers, including ePlus and IBM, earned high levels of vendor certification, while HP signed a deal with the Air Force.
And, in a move toward becoming a more well known brand, TCS sponsored an established sporting event.
Accenture, VMware Boost Cloud Solutions
At VMworld, Accenture and VMware announced an expansion of their existing relationship, aimed at helping clients adopt cloud computing technologies more quickly by providing guidance on how to optimize information technology processes within the enterprise.
The companies unvieled three solutions:
-- Transforming operations for virtualization to help customers overcome challenges encountered when virtualizing data centers;
- Application Enablement to leverage VMware vFabric, allowing organizations to optimize the performance of aging and high-cost application portfolios;
- Cloud Strategy Enablement to help customers understand how cloud computing can play a role in their organizations.
HP Services Flies High With US Air Force
HP Services will provide new workstations and desktop PCs for the U.S. Air Force (USAF). The award will add to the USAF’s 900,000 units of HP products deployed in the past five years throughout the U.S., Europe and Asia Pacific. USAF facilities worldwide will use an array of HP platforms, including HP Workstations and HP Compaq 6005 Business Pro PCs that combine high performance, energy efficiency and security features.
ePlus Earns Cisco ATP Status
Cisco has awarded ePlus the status of Technology TelePresence Video Master Authorized Technology Provider (ATP). The desgination recognizes that ePlus has fulfilled the training requirements and program prerequisites to sell, deploy, and support Cisco TelePresence Video products and solutions at the Master level.
A Cisco TelePresence Video Master ATP Partner is considered to be the most knowledgeable and skillful in deploying the entire Cisco video endpoint portfolio. That Cisco portfolio comprises single- and triple-screen Cisco TelePresence units, custom TelePresence suites, and infrastructure solutions. As the market changes, an ATP designation may be discontinued or may evolve into a Cisco specialization.
TCS Partners With The Amsterdam Marathon
Tata Computer Services (TCS) is the official technology partner to the Amsterdam Marathon in a five-year deal; the event will be renamed ’TCS Amsterdam Marathon.’ The Amsterdam is one of Europe's leading marathons and is expected to have 33,000 participants from 80 countries at the 36th event, on Oct. 16, 2011. It is one of the flattest and fastest marathon courses worldwide. TCS’ also has sports partnerships with Formula 1 racing team Ferrari, pro-cycling team Garmin-Cervelo and several marathons in major cities in the world, including Bangalore, Boston, Chicago, Mumbai and New York. TCS has been operating in the Netherlands since 1992; that unit is one of its largest country operations worldwide.
IBM Global Business Services Goes Diamond
IBM Global Business Services has been named an Oracle Diamond level partner, the highest ranking in Oracle Partner Network Specialized Program. IBM and Oracle have been partners for 25 years and have collaborated on 30,000 customer engagements worldwide.
IBM received Oracle’s Diamond status by demonstrating expertise in Oracle technologies and helping joint customers maximize the value of their Oracle investments. To date, IBM has achieved 21 Oracle Specializations and five Advanced Specializations.
