Slide Show: VAR Seals The Deal With High-Tech Hotel Room

Tech Data put together a complete hotel room, including a bed and accessories, to help VAR LaSalle Solutions win over a hotel client with an in-room flat-panel display solution. LaSalle executives credit the distributor with helping win the deal.

The solution includes a Hewlett-Packard display and InnNetwork software. Tech Data and the VAR collaborated with HP to ensure that the VAR would be able to procure up to 100,000 displays if necessary.

The system includes the HP Compaq Business Desktop dc7800 and wireless accessories including Logitech's wireless keyboard and MX Air Rechargeable Cordless Air Mouse you point at the TV (the dock for that shown here).

The InnNetwork software allows you to choose from a variety of news feeds.

The solution also allows you to contact local restaurants and other entertainment options.

The HP display is a nice addition above the fireplace in this real-world installation in California.

Steve Robb, vice president and general manager at LaSalle Solutions, helped build the solution provider's expertise after guessing there would be increased demand in anticipation of the FCC's mandate for digital broadcasts by 2009.
