Sanyo's 6 New HD Dual Cameras For 2009

Sanyo announced six new models of its Xacti series of dual cameras, devices that have both HD video and still-photo capability. The new Xactis, including the VPC-FH1 (pictured), will be available in March 2009.

The full HD Xacti models, the horizontal VPC-FH1 and the vertical VPC-HD2000 (pictured), capture images at 1,920-x-1,080 pixels, and record video at 60 frames per second. Both models offer full 1,080 p HD video, 8-megapixel photos, high-speed recording and super-slow motion playback, 10x photo optical zoom, 16x video zoom and optional lenses. The VPC-FH1 has an MSRP of $499.99 and the VPC-HD2000 is priced at $599.99.

The compact HD Xacti model VPC-TH1 takes images at 1,280-x-720 pixels and records at 30 frames per second. It has 30x optical zoom for photos, 2-megapixel sequential shooting at 13 frames per second, and a 3-hour, 20-minute recording life. The VPC-TH1 is priced at $299.99.



The compact HD Xacti VPC-CG10 has 5x optical zoom, and takes 10-megapixel photos and records 720p HD video. It has high-speed sequential shooting at 7 frames per second. The VPC-CG10 is priced at $199.99.

The Xacti VPC-WH1 has a waterproof rating of IPX8, and will operate in water depths of up to10 feet, for one hour. The VPC-WH1 also has 30x optical zoom, takes 2-megapixel photos and 720p HD video, and has a 3-hour, 20-minute continuous recording time. The VPC-WH1 is priced at $399.99.

The Xacti VPC-CA9 also has a waterproof rating of IPX8, and will operate in water depths up to 5 feet. It takes 9-megapixel photos and records 720p HD video. The VPC-CA9 also has 5x optical zoom and 7 frame-per-second shooting. The VPC-CA9 is priced at $349.99.
