The Best-Selling Products Of 2011
The Best-Selling Products Of 2011
The following slides represent the top-selling product SKUs through distributors in a range of product categories from 2010 to 2011 through distributors, according to the NPD Group. (The NPD Group's Distributor Track sales database is comprised primarily of U.S. Global Technology Distribution Council members.) Some categories might appear to have surprising winners, which could be attributed to the fact that some vendors have many SKUs for a similar product, while others offer only a few SKUs, which helps boost sales for that more common SKU.
Monochrome Laser Printers, Single Function
HP LaserJet P2055dn
HP had the top 10 best-selling SKUs in 2011 with the P2055dn, a 35-ppm model, as the top seller. Meanwhile, four versions of the P4015 cracked the top 10, including the P4015n, which was the best-seller in 2010.
Monochrome Laser Printers, Multifunction
HP LaserJet M3035xs
HP wasn't quite as dominant in multifunction printers as it was in the monochrome single-function category, but it was still the top dog. The company had five of the top 10 best-selling models, led by the M3035xs.
Color Laser Printers, Single Function
HP LaserJet CP4525dn
HP's LaserJet CP4525dn, a 42-ppm unit, was the top-selling model in 2011, ahead of eight other HP single-function color laser printers that populated the top 10.

Desktops
Apple iMac Core i5/2400S
Apple had the best-selling desktop SKU in 2011, in part because other vendors offered many more SKUs for sale but also because Apple includes an LCD monitor with its computers, adding to the dollar volume generated. The top-selling unit according to NPD was an iMac Core i5/2400S with a 2.5GHz processor, 4 GB of RAM and a 21.5-inch LCD monitor.
Notebooks
HP ProBook 4530s
