Black Friday is just around the corner. For some, the former one-day shopping event has turned into a multi-day shopper's extravaganza. Stores like Amazon and Staples already began rolling out deals on Sunday and will continue to add to the mayhem through the end of the week. Following, are 10 places to check out for deep tech discounts in store or online for 'Black Friday' -- but check quickly because the time may already be ticking on some of this season's best deals.
Target
'Add a gift card' is the name of the Black Friday game at Target this year. The retail store will attempt to clear its aisles of 'older generation' Apple products while still offering tempting discounts on the new lineup. The iPad Air will be on sale for $479.00, a mere $20 discount; however the previous generation iPad will come with a $100 Target gift card attached. Similarly, the 16 GB iPhone 5S will see a $20 discount, placing it at $179.00 and will come with a $30 gift card. The original iPad Mini will sport a price tag of $299 and a $75 gift card and finally, Target will hand out $50 gift cards with every 16 GB fifth generation iPod Touch.
D&H
North America computer and consumer electronics distributor is promoting a slew of Black Friday sales in conjunction with its technology vendors this year. According to a D&H statement, "participating manufacturers thus far include Acer, APC, ASUS, Case Logic, Gear Head, Genius, Griffin, IRIS, Linksys, Livescribe, Microsoft, OmniMount, SanDisk, Samsung, Sennheiser, Speck and more, with additional vendors submitting specials on a daily basis." Over 400 specials through D&H have been solidified so far and more are expected to come. Among the deals are a $120 rebate on Canon MF8280CW Multifunction Color Laser Printer, $25 rebate on a Samsung XE500T1CA01US Win8 tablet and a $92 rebate on a BenX SVGA 2500DLP Projector. D&H said customers could contact their representatives for specific deals.
Lantronix
In a Black Friday, Cyber Monday four-day special, Lantronix is offering 20 percent off of all its products on its website. Known for machine-to-machine smart network and communications solutions, Lantronix is a major player in enabling machines for the growth of the 'Internet of Things'. Highlighted among its four-day deals are the company's xPrintServer Office Edition and its Secure Lantronix Branch Office Manager. Sales will begin at 12:01 a.m. on Friday November 29 and continue through 11:59 p.m. on Monday December 2.
OfficeMax
OfficeMax will open its doors for its first round of 'Black Friday' sales from 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving night to 2 a.m on Friday morning before re-opening its doors at 5 a.m. on Friday. Thursday night doorbusters will include a $29.99 Canon Color Inkjet PIXMA MG3220 all-in-one wireless photo printer. The HP Pavillon TouchSmart Windows 8 Laptop with 4th generation Intel Core i3-4005U processor for $399.99 (pictured) will be available with any $50 purchase. At 11 p.m. The HP Pavillon laptop featuring AMD will go on sale for $319.99 with any $50 purchase, a savings of $130.
Lenovo's IdeaTab S6000 10.1-inch 16 GB tablet will have a price tag of $199.99, a $50 savings. Sales will continue at 5 a.m. with the Dell Inspiron 11 3137 laptop for $299.99 with a $50 purchase and the Epson Color Inkjet Expression Premium XP-800 Wireless all-in-one printer will be priced at $99.99. Select deals will be available online beginning at 12:01 a.m. on Thanksgiving.
Amazon
Amazon is encouraging customers to take part in its 'Black Friday Deals Week'. The deals began on Sunday and the 'everything store' has been rolling out new offers as often as every ten minutes. Each item has a limited quantity and a limited amount of time for customers to take advantage up. Underneath each listing are a timer and 'percentage claimed' tracker giving consumers real-time updates on how quickly they should act on the deal. Upcoming steals will include 40 percent or more off select HDTVs, more than 30 percent off select laptops and 20 percent of select tablets. A range of peripherals and accessories will also be deeply discounted. Keep track of discounts through Amazon's 'deals e-mails'.
Best Buy
Black Friday Best Buy shoppers will be able to take advantage of three waves of in-store doorbusters. Doors will open at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday Nov. 28. Shoppers will be able to view secret midnight specials beginning at 10 p.m. online. Another round of deals will begin at 10 a.m. on Friday. All deals are kept secret, but rest assured, deep discounts will be found across all electronics.
Samsung
On its website, Samsung is advertising the best deals to take advantage of at retail stores across the country as well as from their online store. Right now, shoppers can add electronics to their wish list including a 51-inch Plasma 4500 Series TV (pictured), listed at $849.99 but on sale for $429.99 or a 22-inch Class 5000 Series LED TV for $149.99, down from its original $279.99 price tag. Though televisions will see some of Samsung's deepest percentage discounts, tablets, laptops, monitors, digital cameras and more will all see significant price cuts. Smartphone discounts on the Galaxy Note II, Galaxy S III, and Galaxy S4 have yet to be announced.
Staples
Staples has also jumped on the 'early start' bandwagon, pushing out deals beginning Sunday, Nov. 24 and extending through Friday, Nov. 29. The company is advertising up to $150 off the fourth generation iPad as well as several other discounts on a variety of tablets. Samsung's 7-inch Galaxy Tab 3 (pictured) will sell for $159.99, a $40 discount, and the Asus Memo Pad ME102, 16 GB, 10.1-inch tablet for $199.99, an $80 discount. Select laptops will be up to $200 off and desktop computers up to $150 off.
Walmart
Walmart has separated its 'Black Friday' line-up into 3 separate events beginning Thursday, Nov. 28 at 6 p.m. and extending through the following weekend. No matter the item of choice, Walmart has a one-hour in stock guarantee. As long as shoppers are in line by an hour after the store opens, they will be able to take advantage of all advertised prices. Apple's new iPad Mini (pictured) will be among the first deals, on sale for $299 between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Thursday night. Beginning Nov. 28, HP's 7-inch Android tablet will sell for $89 and an assortment of HP printers will see deep discounts. Finally, on Friday beginning at 8 a.m. a new iPhone 5C will come with a $75 gift card and the iPhone 5S will sell for $189. Up to $300 of in store credit will be available to customers looking to trade in a smartphone at Walmart on Friday.
Radioshack
Doors will open at Radioshack at 8 a.m. on Friday morning. Among the stories biggest discounts will be the iPhone 5C (pictured) selling at half price, for a total of $49.99. The Samsung Galaxy S4 will sell for $49.99 and come with a $50 Visa gift card while the Midland 1080p HD Action Camera with accessory kit and 8GB memory card will be discounted to $99.99.
