LG Leaks: How The G4 Compares To The Galaxy S6 So Far
New LG G4 Spec Leaks
New details and specs of the G4, LG's newest phone, were leaked on Monday, weeks before the smartphone vendor was scheduled to take the wraps off the device. According to The Verge, the leaks were revealed by a work-in-progress microsite for the G4, which has since then been taken down.
LG, which has placed pressure on Samsung's mobile division through its success in the midrange market, recently rolled out four midrange phones during Mobile World Congress in March, but has steered clear of any announcements regarding its newest phone in the high-end G series.
Following are seven features that factor into how LG's G4 will compare to Samsung's newly released Galaxy S6.

7. Measurements
While there was no word on the new smartphone's weight, the G4 information revealed that the handset would measure out to be 149.1 mm long, 75.3 mm wide and 8.9 mm thick, which is a bit bigger than the smartphone vendor's older rendition, the G3. In comparison, the Galaxy S6 is a bit smaller, with dimensions of 142.1 mm long, 70.1 mm wide and 7 mm thick.
Smartphone measurements have come under the spotlight over the past year as vendors increase the sizes of their phones due to a boost in popularity of the "phablet," or large-screened smartphone.
6. Variety Of Covers
The Galaxy S6's strengths came through its high-end appeal, as Samsung replaced the cheaper frames of its preceding Galaxy S phones with a fancier aluminum and Gorilla glass design.
The G4 leak revealed how LG plans to address this hurdle -- the South Korean company may allow buyers to customize the appearance of their G4s by letting them choose from a variety of rear covers, which range from plastic, sporty versions to more high-end, leather renditions.
This option offers consumers a more high-end feel to their phones, while expanding consumer options for smartphone designs.
5. Battery
According to the leaks, the G4 will have a 3,000 mAh battery that can be swapped out. In comparison, the Galaxy S6 contains a 2,550 mAh battery that holds up to over one day of battery life.
The G4 battery's higher milliamp-hours level means that it will store more energy and, furthermore, it is a removable battery. The Galaxy S6 does not contain a removable battery, meaning that users can't trade out the battery when they need extra power for their smartphones.
4. Micro SD
The G4 smartphone will contain an SD card slot as an extra option for storage space. This extra feature puts the G4 at an advantage against both Samsung's Galaxy S6 and Apple's iPhone 6, neither of which offer a micro SD for extra storage.
3. Display
The G4 will sport a 5.5-inch QHD screen with an IPS Quantum display and 2,560-x-1,440 resolution. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S6 contains a 5.1-inch display screen and a quad HD high-pixel display with Super AMOLED.
While the G4 will have the bigger screen, the Galaxy S6 offers a cool display factor through the Galaxy S6 Edge's curved screen at the vertical edges of the phone.
2. Camera
The G4 leaks revealed more specifications about the smartphone's camera. The F1.8 camera will be on the G4's rear and will include various features, such as shutter speed, brightness of lens, ISO, white balance, exposure and three shooting modes, including manual, normal and simple.
In comparison, the Galaxy S6 features both front and rear cameras with F1.9 lenses and high-resolution sensors. The Galaxy S6 also contains a variety of other features, including virtual shot, fast and slow motion, and selective focus.
1. More Specs To Be Revealed April 28
Other details of LG's G4 phone, such as information about its processor, pricing and weight were not revealed on the microsite. However, LG is expected to be unveiling its new phone on April 28, according to CNET, where the company will reveal more information about the smartphone.
The Galaxy S6, which was released on Friday, is available with 32 GB for $199.99 with a two-year contract at retail stores, while the Galaxy S6 Edge with 32 GB costs $299.99.
