As more mobile devices, like laptops and tablets, eat into the desktop and PC market, desktop vendors are upping their games, attempting to attract gaming, enterprise and home computing customers.
Desktop vendors like Apple, Hewlett-Packard and Dell, have found success in the second quarter of 2015 through driving innovative technology in their desktop products, experimenting with small form factors and pushing the limits with cheaper, more competitive prices.
Following are the top 10 best-selling desktop models in the second quarter, according to NPD Group, a Port Washington, N.Y.-based market research firm, which provides data from leading technology distributors. The NPD Group's DistributorTrack sales database comprises primarily U.S. Global Technology Distribution Council members.
10. Lenovo's ThinkCentre M73
Lenovo's ThinkCentre M73 small-form-factor desktop ranked the 10th best-selling desktop model in the second quarter, according to NPD Group.
The ThinkCentre M73 is a little pricier than the average $582 desktop price, with prices around $692.85, according to Amazon.
This desktop model is powered by a Core i5 Intel processor clocking at 3.30GHz, contains Intel HD Graphics, runs on Windows 7 and is upgradable to the Windows 8.1 operating system. The model contains a security slot, six total USB ports and 4 GB of standard memory.
9. Apple's 27-Inch iMac With Retina Display
Apple 27-inch iMac with Retina 5K Display, released in 2015, came in ninth place for the best-selling desktop model.
The desktop, which is powered by an Intel i5 Core processor clocking at 3.5GHz and an AMD Radeon R9 GPU, contains four USB 3.0 ports and two Thunderbolt 2 ports, as well as integrated stereo speakers and dual array microphones.
Apple's iMac costs around $2,249.99, according to Best Buy, which is a bit pricier than Apple's other iMac models.
8. Lenovo's ThinkCentre M73 Tiny

7. Hewlett-Packard's ProDesk 400
Hewlett-Packard's small-form-factor ProDesk desktop ranked as the seventh best-selling desktop model, according to NPD Group.
The ProDesk model is powered by a quad-core Intel Core i5 processor clocking in at 3.30GHz, utilizes Intel HD Graphics and runs on Windows 7. It contains 4 GB RAM and two memory slots, as well as up to eight USB ports.
The ProDesk desktop model contains expandable desktop PC options for enterprise customers, as well as a small form factor to add flexibility and portability.
The desktop is priced around $649.99, according to CDW.
6. Apple's 27-Inch iMac
Apple's 27-inch iMac proved to be popular, ranking the sixth best-selling desktop product in the second quarter.

The EliteDesk 800 G1 can be purchased for $827.99, according to CDW.
4. Hewlett-Packard's ProDesk 600 G1
Hewlett-Packard's ProDesk 600 G1 was the fourth best-selling desktop model in the second quarter, according to NPD Group.
This 6.7x17-by-4x15.7-inch tower desktop is powered by a dual-core Intel Core i3 that clocks 3.4GHz, Intel HD Graphics and contains 4 GB of RAM in addition to dynamic video memory technology. The desktop runs on Windows 7.
The ProDesk 600 G1 is a little pricier than other desktops at $719, according to Hewlett-Packard.
3. Dell's OptiPlex 3020
Dell's OptiPlex 3020 small-form-factor desktop placed third best-selling desktop model in the second quarter, according to NPD Group.
The OptiPlex 3020 is a more economical version of Dell's business desktops, offering a quad-core Intel i5 Core processor clocking 3.30GHz with integrated Intel HD graphics. The desktop features eight external and two internal USB 2.0 ports and a DisplayPort, and runs on Windows 7, upgradable to the Windows 8.1 operating system.
Dell's OptiPlex desktop costs around $649.99, according to Newegg.com.
2. Hewlett-Packard's EliteDesk 705 G1
Hewlett-Packard's EliteDesk 705 G1 mini desktop was the second best-selling desktop model in the second quarter, according to NPD Group.
The personal computer mini desktop is powered by AMD's A Series quad-core A8 Pro CPU clocking 3.1GHz. This 6.9-x-7-x-1.3-inch desktop contains an AMD Radeon R7 graphics processor, DisplayPort, and runs on Windows 7.
Hewlett-Packard's EliteDesk 705 G1 costs around $634.99, according to CDW.
1. Apple's 21.5-Inch Desktop
Apple's newest version of its iMac desktop topped the market for the best-selling desktop model, according to NPD Group.
The 21.5-inch desktop model is powered by Intel Core i5 processors, contains Intel Iris Pro Graphic, runs on Mac OS X Yosemite and costs around $1,289, according to Amazon.
The Cupertino, Calif.-based company came in third place as the best-selling desktop brand in the second quarter of 2015 due to its popular iMac models, with 13.2 percent dollar share. That number is up 1.2 points from the same quarter last year.
