Dell AI PCs Powering Productivity
A recent survey by CRN revealed that 28 percent of organizations are actively implementing or considering AI devices as part of their refresh plans. Explore how Dell AI-powered PCs and innovative solutions are helping partners drive productivity, enhance security and support the evolving needs of businesses. In an exclusive interview with CRNtv, Eric Arcese and Jon Siegal from Dell Technologies share their insights.
AI adoption obviously is a hot topic right now. Can you share how customers are engaging with AI and what key trends or challenges are emerging in those conversations?
Jon: In these past couple of years since AI came onto the scene, it's unlike anything we've seen before. It's touching literally every single industry and function within companies. One of the trends we hear from customers is they want to deploy AI where it makes the most sense—whether in the data center, cloud, edge or on their PC. This aligns with our perspective at Dell, where we help customers bring AI to their data wherever it is. This reduces latency, lowers costs, and enhances security. This ties into our Dell AI factory, which we announced earlier this year aimed at helping customers run AI where they want to.
Jon, you brought up the AI factory, which was featured at Dell Tech World earlier this year. Can you elaborate on its significance?
Jon: The AI factory is like a reference architecture with blocks such as data services, open infrastructure, ecosystem and outcomes. Our partner community plays a crucial role in stitching these blocks together, making the system cohesive. We can't do it alone. We need our partner ecosystem to navigate the complex IT landscape.
There's a case for adopting AI PCs right now. Can you expand on why you think now is the time?
Jon: AI PCs are sleek, fast and have all-day battery life. They can handle AI workloads efficiently. As customers refresh their PCs, they need to consider not just today's needs but also future AI workloads. AI PCs have neural processing units (NPUs) and are designed to run AI applications. We are tracking over 400 applications under development for NPUs, including Microsoft Copilot for 365, Adobe and CrowdStrike.
What are the benefits for the partner community?
Eric: Our partners want to work with vendors that are simple, predictable and profitable. Simplifying our portfolio helps partners navigate our offerings more easily. We aim to make engagement predictable and ensure partners can build profitable practices around AI PCs.
How does Dell's APEX PC as a service help partners invest in the latest technology and improve operational efficiency for customers?
Eric: APEX allows customers to access the latest technology through a subscription model. This includes PCs and peripherals, providing budget flexibility and control. Customers can easily adjust the number of PCs and peripherals they need.
