How Ingram Micro Delivers Reliable Multi-Vendor Solutions

As the IT landscape grows increasingly complex, the demands on solution provider continues to surge. A multi-vendor environment adds layers of difficulty, making collaboration essential. Recognizing these challenges, Ingram Micro has developed innovative ways to support partners and customers. Recently, CRNtv visited Buffalo, New York, to delve into Ingram Micro’s Business Transformation Center (BTC).

“We're the platform that customers can actually touch, see, feel and demo. We can actually do things like attacks on a network and show you how products are going to stop those attacks from happening,” explains Jonathan Silsby, director of solution design and services at Ingram Micro. “We can put multi-product solutions together and do bake-offs and show you which one's better for your needs specifically.”

The BTC initially served as a platform for displaying products. Cheryl Rang, vice president of technology solutions at Ingram Micro, shares how it has transformed into a sophisticated environment where simulations of real-world scenarios are possible. “The biggest issue that any customer is going to have today is how they can keep up with the change and the speed of change that the technology industry is facing. And that's where Ingram truly can shine and help partners," Rang explains.

With remote work becoming the norm, Ingram Micro has responded by extending their technological showcase virtually through their Advanced Solutions Integration Lab, which brings the BTC experience online. This virtual expansion focuses on security and aims to cover wider technological segments, offering partners the tools to innovate remotely. Silsby explains, “The next step is truly to bring more of it to scale. And the way we're going to be able to scale is to enable that virtual experience. The virtual arm is really the future because it really allows us to take what we've built in the BTC over the last 20 years, everywhere.”

By enabling partners to access BTC resources virtually, they can explore and test solutions irrespective of location. Rang highlights, "It's not a single vendor solution. It's how did all this technology play together to create a unique outcome for their end users.” Through blending virtual tools with real-life solutions, partners will be equipped to deliver complex solutions reliably to end-users.
